Dr. Kay Segler, President of BMW M, slowly peels the slick, black, vinyl covering off his newest BMW 1-Series M Coupe for members of the BMW Blog to see. While this is more of a quarter-monty than the full-monty, we’ll take what we can get.
You know how manufacturers like to drag out their unveiling’s like a Las Vegas burlesque show, and the BMW 1-Series M Coupe has hiked up a good portion of her skirt, revealing a set of ‘M’ Division alloy rims, a new body kit, and a set of quad exhaust tips (shown in video). (More after the jump)
The joke vehicle accessories, Carstache and Truck Nutz, have a new company moving into their territory with a product called Car Lashes. These are flexible “eye lashes” designed to be cut and pasted onto your headlights using a 3M-type double sided tape. The company is also selling a crystal “eye liner” that can be applied over top the lashes for an even greater “headlight popping” effect.
The kit retails for $24.99 for the lashes, and $19.99 for the jewel eye liner via their CarLashes Web store, which last time I checked was so packed with visitors (or should I rather say, disbelievers), their server was down for exceeding its bandwidth. Does this mean you can expect to see at least one of these on a Volkswagen Beetle before you die… I’d say almost certainly!
Check out the video.

A sticking accelerator would be a joy compared to the problems that Ferrari could be facing. There is no conclusive evidence at this point in time, mind you, but the 10th (or is this the 11th) Ferrari BBQ was fired up in China (video below) this past week, and unfortunately nobody brought S’mores to thoroughly enjoy it.
While the cause of the crashes/fires have been for the most part unanswered, Ferrari announced today that they would begin their own investigations into the situation. Until such time as they have more information (or at least a pretty damn good excuse) they have declined further comment.
Thankfully, there have been no reports of serious injuries, as the drivers have all been able to escape before the cars were completely engulfed in flames. At its current pace (one every 10 days), we can expect the 12th Ferrari 458 to go up in ashes sometime around the 1st of September.
This particular supercar sells for $256,000 and has a waiting list no less than three years long. This is one case where it’s better to be at the bottom of a list, than at the top of a smoldering pile.

The newly designed Continental GT is preparing to be unveiled on September 7th, 2010, at 11AM (EST), and if you are the type of person who likes to wait in line for every opening night Twilight film, their website features a countdown so you can be one of the first people to see it.
Until then, they’ve prepared a teaser video, which not only hints towards some nice exterior upgrades (lights, wheels, etc), but also a more refined interior layout (instrument cluster, gps, etc).

It’s usually the cop who finds the bad boys or girls, but in the case of last Wednesday night, a drunk 20-year-old woman found her way straight to them, via a head-on collision on a Utah Interstate HOV Lane (Impact at 2:42). The woman had apparently already been in at least one other accident that night (which she fled), before finding herself traveling down the wrong end of a HOV lane.
