Chi Modu is a renowned photojournalist and cultural observer. Chi chronicled the beginnings of the hip-hop movement, now a global phenomenon. In 1990, he began work at The Source, the definitive magazine of hip-hop culture. Through capturing images of the artists he was able to show them as real people, not one-dimensional celebrities. From September 10 to October 10, Crooks & Castles will be displaying his artwork at their Concept Shop on Sunset Blvd at The Sunset. The opening reception will be held on September 10 from 7-11 p.m.
