Bikes

In July of this year Northrup Grumman and the U.S. Air Force are planning to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber’s first flight. To commemorate the occasion Northrup Grumman hired Orange County Choppers to design and build a B-2 bomber themed motorcycle. The bike will be featured at all the anniversary events for 2009 including air and trade shows. Some of the features the bike has includes it’s gas tank and front cowling shaped to look like the B-2’s cockpit and fuselage and it is painted to match the plane’s color. Both sides of each wheel has five machined aluminum B-2 models that are positioned in the shape of the Air Force star. An overhead view of the motorcycle shows that the handlebars and aft deck are set parallel to the leading edge of the gas tank that is very similar to the B-2’s design. The B-2 stealth bike is named “The Spirit of Innovation” and it’s been given a tail number of 0789 which is the date of the bomber’s first flight. You can check out the bike on the season premiere of the TV series “American Chopper”.
