Steve Saleen’s new company, SMS Limited, raised the curtain on their first car to go into production, the SMS 570 Challenger. The vehicle will be the first in a line of high performance muscle cars built by SMS. The mods on the 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T feature an SMS Red Butterfly Induction Hood and other SMS high-performance elements like an improved drivetrain, suspension, aerodynamics, tires and interior. SMS is making the Challenger available in two models, the SMS 570 Challenger and SMS 570X Challenger. The former features an SMS engineered SMS 296 Supercharger that’s mated to a 5.7L HEMI producing 500-hp while the latter puts out 700-hp. Pricing for each model starts at around $60,000 to $70,000.
